From Religion to Spirituality
The Kundalini is represented as a coiled-up serpent which is symbolic in nature. Upon awakening it rises upwards and starts to burn down the accumulated karmas gradually.
Upon awakening of the kundalini, all paths converge into one grand idea about God for the Self-realization of a human. In other words, once this Divine energy is awakened within a person, all the ideas about Divinity will undergo a dramatic change. The distinction between religion and philosophy ceases to exist in the mind. One can term it as a grand religion, or yôga system, or a unified theory. Everything that has emerged from human intellect, obviously will have an inherent limitation with regards to understanding or describing something beyond its reach. Hence, all the religions, philosophies, doctrines, yoga systems, and so on, can only guide a person up to the point of awakening the dormant cosmic energy.
From here onwards, the perception of self, life, and the Almighty, the very idea of the Divinity gets completely altered. All this happens in a portion of a second as the supreme primordial force propels the life form towards Self-realization. In the case of Sidha Mahayoga practitioners, this cosmic force is activated by the grace of the guru by using a technique called Shaktipat.
